Trace the history of art in La Boca with an expert

Come with me, an arts journalist, on an exploration of Argentine art in the iconic open-air museum of Buenos Aires’ La Boca neighborhood, where art isn’t confined to galleries and its life force spills onto the houses’ colorful facades and tango echoes on every corner. • Stroll along Avenida Pedro de Mendoza as I unravel the artistic DNA of Argentina—its radical movements, boundary-pushing institutions, and the creators who dared to redefine what art could be—and explore the visionaries who transformed Argentine art. • Stop in at Fundación Proa and Fundación Andreani, pillars of the local art scene, and hear about their impact on contemporary exhibitions and artistic discourse. • Conclude in the serene garden at Proa21, an experimental space and beacon for emerging and contemporary artists, for coffee and a deeper conversation about art’s evolving role in Argentine society. You’ll leave La Boca with not just a deeper understanding of Argentine art, but also a sharper eye for the dialogue between art and place.
